Lakshmi Consort of the great Hindu god, Vishnu. She is the goddess of wealth and good fortune. During the Hindu celebration, Diwali, the festival of lights, lanterns are lit and fireworks exploded to please the goddess. The goddess is said to visit houses which are well lit. Lakshmi is sometimes associated with Indra and her presence is believed by some to bring fertility.
