Statues, Goddess Statues
Hindu mythology is full of colourful and powerful images. There are literally thousands of deities who are invoked at some stage in prayer and meditation to bring the seeker closer to the Source. In our showrooms we have a huge collection of Indian and Tibetan deities, from the very small to the extremely large, in marble, sandstone wood and brass. All the major deities are featured with a lot of focus on the many forms of Shiva, or as Nataraj the joyful Lord of the universal dance, and Ardnarishvara…half man half woman. Krishna and Arjuna and the great monkey god Hanuman, son of the Wind are all featured in our collection along with their feminine consorts. Tibetan deities include Avalokiswara, Padma Sambav and Manjushree. For more information on any deities send an e-mail and we will forward you a printable file. , Goddess Statues

Brass Laxmi Deepa 28inch
(code: OOAALD028)

Lakshmi Consort of the great Hindu god, Vishnu. She is the goddess of wealth and good fortune. During the Hindu celebration, Diwali, the festival of lights, lanterns are lit and fireworks exploded to please the goddess. The goddess is said to visit houses which are well lit. Lakshmi is sometimes associated with Indra and her presence is believed by some to bring fertility. There is a legend of Indra pouring rain on the land with Lakshmi by his side so the crops flourished. Lakshmi appears in the great tale of creation, the churning the ocean, appearing on a lotus flower. The Lakshmi Deepa lamps are lit all across India and the east to attract the mighty Deva’s blessings in households and businesses alike. The Deepa bowl is filled with ghee and a wick placed in the oil and lit, during one of the most colourful and holy festivals in the Hindu calendar.
