The Nagas are the rain-givers, the guardians of the water. They are also considered the guardians of the riches of the deep, and are supposed to carry
a precious jewel in their foreheads. The daughters of Nagas are known as
Naga Kanyas. The upper part of the body of Naga Kanyas is of human, lower part is of snake.
The Naga Kanyas are also known as guardians of the great mystery or the feminine essence of life.
In between her hands she holds the shankh or conch shell, symbolic of blowing the horn of wisdom to overcome ignorance.
