KARGAHI RUGS are descendants from the old Ottoman Empire in that they are made by Afghan Uzbeks and Turkmen villages whose traditions refer back to the old rugs of the Caucasus regions. Many of the traditional designs, guys, hexagons and other polygon patterns are reminiscent of these old rugs. Khargahi Rugs or Khargai Rugs are totally hand produced from start to exquisite finish. Hand spun wool is used, vegetable and mineral natural dyes and hand weaving is so fine that the lanolin remains in the wool for the lifetime of the rug ..these rugs will give years of hard service.
